For most Bangladeshi students, Malaysia is the sensible first move. English-taught, degrees that count, and prices that won't make your parents flinch. It's where a big share of our students start, and it's usually the fastest way out the door.
Why start with Malaysia
Living costs sit close to Dhaka, the food and culture won't feel foreign, and the timeline is quick. Some students go from first consult to boarding a plane in two or three months. You get an internationally recognised, English-taught education without the Western price tag.
Universities, public and private
The public heavyweights are Universiti Malaya (UM), UPM, UKM, USM and UTM. On the private side you've got Taylor's, Asia Pacific University (APU), and branch campuses like Monash Malaysia that hand you an Australian degree without the Australian bill. If budget is tight, the private and foundation routes are usually the easiest door in.
The money
This is Malaysia's trump card. Tuition often starts around $3,500 a year, and daily costs are some of the lowest anywhere students go. Put a scholarship on top and the real bill can dip below what a private university at home would charge.
Getting in from Bangladesh
Malaysia is about as accessible as it gets:
- Plenty of universities accept a 3.5+ HSC GPA.
- A lot are MOI-accepted, so an English-medium letter can stand in for IELTS (some still ask for it).
- The paperwork is light, and we walk you through the checklist.
Scholarships
Waivers of 40% or more are realistic for good HSC results at many private universities, and public ones run merit awards too. The trick isn't finding scholarships. It's applying to the right ones, correctly, before they close.
The steps
- Shortlist a university and course that fit your grades and wallet.
- Get your documents ready (we do the checklist with you).
- Apply, get the offer letter, then sort the student pass.
- Book housing and handle pre-departure. Many students land within a few months.
